Privacy First: CleanSpace is designed with your privacy as our top priority. All photo analysis happens locally on your device. Your photos never leave your iPhone unless you explicitly enable optional cloud features.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
CleanSpace stores the following information locally in a private database on your device:
- Photo Metadata: File names, sizes, dimensions, creation dates, and camera information (EXIF data)
- Photo Hashes: Digital fingerprints of your photos used for duplicate detection (not the actual photos)
- User Preferences: Your app settings and configurations
- Usage Statistics: Number of scans performed, duplicates found, and storage freed
- Subscription Status: Your subscription tier (Free or Pro)
Important: This data never leaves your device unless you enable cloud sync (see section 1.3).
1.2 Photo Library Access
CleanSpace requires access to your photo library to function. We use this access to:
- Scan and analyze photos for duplicates, large files, and screenshots
- Calculate storage usage and potential savings
- Delete photos you choose to remove
- Compress photos and videos (Pro feature)
We do NOT:
- Upload your photos to any server
- Share your photos with third parties
- Use your photos for advertising or marketing
- Access photos beyond what's necessary for the app's functionality
1.3 Optional Cloud Sync (User Must Opt-In)
If you choose to enable cloud sync, we may store the following on our servers:
- Your app preferences and settings
- Photo hashes and metadata (NOT actual photos)
- Duplicate detection decisions
- Anonymized usage statistics
Cloud sync is:
- Completely optional
- Disabled by default
- Can be turned off at any time in Settings
- Used only to sync data across your devices
1.4 Subscription and Payment Information
Subscription purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Information collected includes:
- Subscription status (Free or Pro)
- Purchase receipts (handled by Apple, not stored by us)
- Anonymous user ID for subscription validation
We do NOT collect or store your credit card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple.
1.5 Analytics and Crash Reports
We may collect anonymized usage data to improve the app:
- Device type and iOS version
- App version
- Feature usage (e.g., number of scans, deletions)
- Crash reports and error logs
This data is:
- Completely anonymous (no personal identification)
- Used solely to improve app performance and fix bugs
- Never sold or shared with third parties for advertising

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
3.1 Third-Party Services We Use
- Apple App Store: Payment processing and subscription management
- RevenueCat: Subscription validation and cross-platform support
- Supabase (Optional): Cloud sync service (only if you enable it)
3.2 When We May Disclose Information
We may disclose information only in the following circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request
- Safety: To protect the safety and rights of users or the public
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition (you will be notified)
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Local Storage: All local data is stored in a private database accessible only by CleanSpace
- Encryption: Cloud sync data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- No Photo Upload: Your actual photos never leave your device
- Secure Authentication: Subscription validation uses secure Apple receipt validation
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Privacy Rights
5.1 Access and Control
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and accessible to you
- Deletion: Delete the app to remove all local data permanently
- Export: Contact us to request a copy of cloud-synced data (if enabled)
- Opt-Out: Disable cloud sync in Settings at any time
5.2 California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected
- Delete personal information
- Opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
5.3 European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
European users have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to data processing
- Data portability

6. Children's Privacy
CleanSpace is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at lyomanndesign@gmail.com.
7. Data Retention
- Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete the app
- Cloud Sync Data: Retained while sync is enabled; deleted within 30 days after disabling
- Subscription Data: Retained as long as required by Apple and RevenueCat for payment processing
- Analytics: Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes
8. International Data Transfers
If you enable cloud sync, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States or other countries. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this privacy policy.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be notified through the app or via email (if you've provided one).
